Czechia Regions Quiz — Rules & What Counts
Czechia has 13 regions plus the capital, Prague — 14 areas in total. Czechs call a region a kraj. This quiz shows a blank map. You type the name of each area, and the map colors that area in place.
Most regions carry the name of their capital city, such as Liberec and Olomouc.
How to play
Type names in any order. A correct name colors the area on the map at once.
You can start to type right away. You do not need to click the answer box first.
English and Czech names both count. "South Bohemia" and "Jihočeský" score the same region.
Czech letters are not required. "Plzen" counts for Plzeň.
A timer tracks your run. The quiz saves your best score and best time.
If you are stuck, use the give up button. The map then shows the areas you missed.
What counts in this quiz
The 13 regions and Prague.
The city name counts for a region named after its capital. "Pardubice" scores the Pardubice Region.
What's not included — and why
The historic lands are not answers. Bohemia and Moravia group the regions, but they do not score.
Good to know
The current 14 regions date from a reform in 2000.
Central Bohemia surrounds Prague, but the capital is not part of it.
Vysočina means "Highlands". It is the only region not named after a city or a historic land.
Moravia-Silesia, around Ostrava, holds the Czech part of the historic region of Silesia.
