Greece has 13 administrative regions. Mount Athos, a self-governed monastic area, is a 14th answer with its own place on the map.
You type the name of each area, and the map colors that area in place.
How to play
- Type names in any order. A correct name colors the area on the map at once.
- You can start to type right away. You do not need to click the answer box first.
- English and Greek names both count. "Crete" and "Kriti" score the same region.
- A timer tracks your run. The quiz saves your best score and best time.
- If you are stuck, use the give up button. The map then shows the areas you missed.

What's not included — and why
- Cities are not answers. Athens and Thessaloniki do not score — Attica and Central Macedonia do.
- Ancient regions that are not modern regions do not score. Macedonia alone is not an answer — the three Macedonia regions are.
Good to know
- About one in three Greeks lives in Attica, the smallest of the 13 regions.
- Mount Athos is a monastic state under Greek sovereignty. Only monks live there.
- Crete is the largest Greek island and a region of its own.
- Central Macedonia, around Thessaloniki, has the most people after Attica.
