Indonesia Provinces Quiz — Rules & What Counts
Indonesia is the largest island country in the world. This map divides it into 34 provinces. You type the name of each province, and the map colors that province in place.
Indonesia created four new provinces in Papua in 2022, for 38 in total today. The map does not show the new borders yet, so this quiz plays the 34 provinces as drawn.
How to play
Type names in any order. A correct name colors the province on the map at once.
You can start to type right away. You do not need to click the answer box first.
English and Indonesian names both count. "East Java" and "Jawa Timur" score the same province.
A timer tracks your run. The quiz saves your best score and best time.
If you are stuck, use the give up button. The map then shows the provinces you missed.

The English form and the Indonesian form both count. "North Sumatra" and "Sumatera Utara" score the same province.
What's not included — and why
The four provinces created in 2022 are not on the map: Central Papua, Highland Papua, South Papua and Southwest Papua. Their land counts under Papua and West Papua.
Islands are not answers. Java, Sumatra and Sulawesi each hold several provinces.
