Same sprint, bigger numbers. The Medium tier keeps the one-problem-at-a-time format and the count-up clock, but the generator now hands you three-digit additions like "148 + 76", subtractions from numbers up to 250, and products like 13 × 17 that live beyond the memorized tables.
This is the tier where technique starts to matter: breaking numbers apart, rounding and adjusting, spotting near-doubles. If Easy feels like typing practice, Medium is where your time actually reflects your mental-math toolkit.
How to play
One problem at a time, cleared in order — the next appears the instant you solve the current one.
Exact answers auto-commit as you type; Enter only matters for checking a wrong guess, which shakes and clears with no penalty.
The timer counts up with no limit — a full clear is guaranteed, and your time is the metric on the leaderboard.
Give up any time to end the run and see your pace.
What counts in this quiz
20 problems per sprint, mixed across all four operations at medium ranges.
Additions use numbers 25–199; subtractions start from numbers up to 250; multiplications run 3–15 times 4–19; divisions are exact with divisors 3–12 and answers up to 40.
Every run is freshly generated — the tier fixes the ranges, not the questions.
What's not included — and why
No Hard-tier monsters here — sums of numbers in the hundreds and products beyond 15 × 19 are reserved for the Hard sprint, so Medium stays beatable at speed.
Good to know
The Mental Calculation World Cup has been held since 2004 — competitors add ten 10-digit numbers in well under a minute.
The classic Medium-tier trick: to add 199, add 200 and take 1 away. Round, compute, adjust.
Multiplying by 15 in your head is just "times 10, plus half of that" — 14 × 15 is 140 + 70.
