Thailand Provinces Quiz — Rules & What Counts
Thailand has 76 provinces plus Bangkok — the 77 provinces of common usage. A province is called a changwat. This quiz shows a blank map. You type the name of each province, and the map colors that province in place.
How to play
Type names in any order. A correct name colors the province on the map at once.
You can start to type right away. You do not need to click the answer box first.
Spaces are not required. "Chonburi" counts for Chon Buri.
Common short forms count. "Korat" scores Nakhon Ratchasima, and "Ayutthaya" scores Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya.
A timer tracks your run. The quiz saves your best score and best time.
If you are stuck, use the give up button. The map then shows the provinces you missed.
What counts in this quiz
The 76 provinces and Bangkok.
What's not included — and why
Pattaya is on the map, but it is not a province. It is a special administrative area inside Chon Buri, and it is not an answer.
The regions of Thailand are not answers. Isan groups provinces, but it does not score.
Good to know
Nakhon Ratchasima is the largest province by area. Thais often call it Korat.
Bueng Kan is the youngest province. It split from Nong Khai in 2011.
Samut Songkhram is the smallest province.
Bangkok is formally a special administrative area, and it counts as the 77th province.
