Currencies of the World

Reference list Compiled by TRIVI.GG Updated 17 August 2026

This page lists each currency the quiz asks about, with the countries that use it.

A currency can cover many countries, so the list is shorter than the country list.

Why one currency covers many countries

A currency union lets several countries share one currency. The euro is the largest: 20 European Union members use it, and several small states use it as well.

West Africa and Central Africa each share a CFA franc. The two are separate currencies with the same name and the same value against the euro.

Some countries use another country's currency without joining a union. Panama and Ecuador both use the US dollar.

Currencies with the same name

Many countries call their currency the dollar, the pound, the franc or the peso. Each one is a separate currency with its own value.

The quiz accepts the plain name where the country makes it unambiguous, and it lists every accepted form in the table.
