What's not included — and why
Schaerbeek and Anderlecht are not answers. They are municipalities inside the Brussels-Capital Region and count as part of Brussels.
Mechelen, La Louvière and Kortrijk fall just outside the top 10.
Good to know
Antwerp is the biggest municipality in Belgium and the second-largest port in Europe.
Charleroi and Liège are the two big cities of Wallonia. Both were built on coal and steel.
Every city on the list has a French and a Dutch name. Antwerpen is Anvers, Gent is Gand, and Luik is Liège.
