Rules & what counts
Most Watched Sitcoms 2010–2020 Quiz — Rules & What Counts
Name the 10 most watched sitcoms of 2010 to 2020. The board ranks them from 1 to 10.
Each card shows the rank, the network and the years the show was on air. You type the title.
The ranking uses US audience numbers. For each show, the quiz takes the best season average inside the window.
The quiz shows no posters and no stills. TV artwork is not free to publish, so the rank and the network are the hints.
How to play
Just start typing. The quiz checks your answer at every keystroke. There is no submit button.
A correct title flips its card. You can answer in any order.
Short forms count where people use them. "HIMYM" solves How I Met Your Mother, and "TBBT" solves The Big Bang Theory.
Numbers count as words or digits. "Two Broke Girls" solves 2 Broke Girls.
Spelling is forgiving. Capitals and punctuation are ignored, and frequent misspellings such as "Rosanne" are accepted.
A famous sitcom that is not in the top 10 clears the input, so you know the quiz read the guess.
The timer starts at your first keystroke and counts up. Give Up ends the run and shows every show you missed. Progress saves automatically.
What counts in this quiz
Live-action sitcoms that aired in the United States between 2010 and 2020.
A show counts if it had at least one season inside the window. The 2018 Roseanne revival counts, because its one season had a very large audience.
The rank comes from the show's best season average inside the window, measured in viewers per episode.
Each card shows the show's full run, not only the years inside the window.
What's not included — and why
Animated sitcoms are not here. The Simpsons, Family Guy and Bob's Burgers are out of scope.
Streaming-only comedies are not here. Streaming services do not publish audience numbers that compare with TV ratings.
Shows outside the top 10 are not here. The Office, Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Schitt's Creek are famous, but their audiences were smaller than the shows on the board.
Shows ranked close to each other can swap places in a different count. The list is a curated top 10, not a court ruling.
Good to know
The Big Bang Theory was the most watched comedy on US TV for seven seasons in a row.
The Roseanne revival in 2018 opened with more than 18 million viewers, the biggest sitcom premiere in more than a decade. ABC cancelled it after one season, and The Conners took its place.
Eight of the ten shows on this board aired on CBS or ABC. NBC, the home of Friends and Seinfeld, has no show in the top 10.
Young Sheldon is a spin-off of The Big Bang Theory. Both shows are on this board.
The final episode of How I Met Your Mother in 2014 drew almost 13 million viewers.
