Name the ten most crowded sovereign countries — the most people squeezed into each square kilometer. The number one answer packs nearly 19,000 people into every km², more than twice the density of New York City.
The list is almost entirely microstates and island nations, with one glaring exception: a country of over 170 million people that sustains microstate-level density at full national scale. Knowing which tiny places are actually sovereign — and which are territories — is the whole game here.

What's not included — and why
Macau and Hong Kong are actually denser than Monaco, but both are special administrative regions of China, not sovereign states — so neither makes the list.
Gibraltar and other packed territories are excluded for the same reason: no sovereignty, no entry.
