What counts in this quiz
- The 48 species this dataset flags as capable of Mega Evolution — answers are base species names only.
What's not included — and why
- Alternate forms are never separate answers: Mega Evolutions, Gigantamax forms, and regional variants (Alolan, Galarian, Hisuian, Paldean) all live under their species' single Pokédex number.
- Form-heavy Pokémon like Rotom, Deoxys, and Vivillon each count exactly once, however many appliances, formes, or wing patterns they come in.
- Japanese names and fan nicknames don't match — the quiz checks English names, with sensible alternates like "Nidoran F" for Nidoran♀.
Good to know
- The Pokédex crossed four digits with #1000 Gholdengo — a surfer built from exactly 1,000 coins, which is no coincidence.
- Only one Pokémon in the entire dex is both Mythical and capable of Mega Evolution: Diancie.
- Every region maps to a real place: Kanto is the actual Kanto region of Japan, Unova is New York City, Kalos is France, Galar is Great Britain, and Paldea is the Iberian Peninsula.
